Did you know, more than 20,300 Manitobans are diagnosed with dementia and 62% are directly impacted by the disease?

I'm one of those Manitobans. My husband's grandfather, Don, lived with dementia.

On our wedding day, Don looked at me and said, "Who are you?" I smiled and introduced myself, "I'm Shyanne. Today, I married your grandson, Spencer." He looked at Spencer, then back at me and said, "Well, aren't I a lucky man today."

This is my first year with the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, and I'm honoured to walk in Don's memory.
