That time of the year has come again and we are so very excited to be participating in this year's Walk for Alzheimer's 2023.  

Our mom Janice was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. Each person's journey with this disease is different in their own ways as there are many similarities. Watching her go through all that she has, walking this walk alongside her and supporting her the best we can. It hasn't been easy and there has so much that has happened, life events, tragic losses and our mother slowly loosing herself while we sit back and watch helplessly. Through tragedy though there is light and she shines brightly, she knows we are people who love her. We will not stop showing up for her, advocating for her and loving her so deeply. 

Last year was the first time we formed a team and participated in the walk and it was such an amazing day all around bringing awareness and raising money for a very tough, challenging, heartbreaking and awful disease. 

Now a days, there is someone I'm sure you know or know someone who has been side by side someone battling these diseases. Dementia and Alzheimer's is something that can go unnoticed/unseen in early stages of just someone being forgetful, misplacing items, having to repeat over what is being asked of them/said and it is something that can come as a tornado all at once.
