Welcome to My Personal Page
Nineteen years ago, my mother, Bernice Barker, died with Alzheimer's. Since then my sister Wendy and I have honoured her by doing the Alzheimer's Memory Walk.
Most people that knew mom called her Bee and she suffered from arthritic knees so Wendy and I walked (with a few friends) as team Bee's Knees.
Over the years Wendy and I accumulated a number of t shirts which I made into a small quilt (see the picture on my personal page). Sometimes we were unable to walk on the actual walk day so Bee's Knees walked on another day. This year the Memory Walk is virtual so Wendy and I plan to walk through Assiniboine Forest.
Please support me in my journey to fight dementia. By making a donation, you will be helping the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba continue to provide valuable programs and services for families affected by dementia, while funding research to help find a cure.
Currently, more than 23,000 Manitobans are diagnosed and 56 per cent are directly impacted by the disease.
Thank you again for your kind and generous support.
